What is the Triple Vagal Method?
The Triple Vagal Method (TVM) is a somatic healing technique designed to release trauma stored in the body by engaging the vagus nerve. It is based on polyvagal theory, which explains how the nervous system responds to stress and trauma. The method aims to strengthen vagal tone, which helps shift the body from a fight-or-flight state to one of relaxation and safety.
Through gentle physical manipulation, breathwork, and vocal exercises, the vagus nerve is stimulated, promoting the release of oxytocin, often called the "love hormone," which helps calm the nervous system and reduce cortisol, the stress hormone. This process encourages the body to complete unresolved trauma cycles and allows for rapid healing, both physically and emotionally
